About the Ohio Beach Project
As residents of Tolchester, it is the duty of each of us to do what we can to preserve the land and water we live by. To this end, the Ohio Beach is as much a part of our community as your next door neighbor.
Only a small percentage of Tolchester residents have a direct view of the Bay we all love - and even fewer have private access. The Ohio Beach gives every resident the freedom to walk, sit, swim and fish on the waters' edge. But once the Beach is gone, so will this pleasure.
August 2008
We are embarking on a very special project that we hope will bring a lot of enjoyment to all community members. This project is called the Ohio Beach Project.
Our plan is to build a Boardwalk, Pavilion and Sandy Beach located on Ohio Avenue. This would provide relaxing and inviting seating for everyone at the water's edge, a Beach area where children and grandchildren can play, and a Pavilion that could be used for meetings and other gatherings. In order for this plan to become a reality we need everyone's help in the form of monetary donations, ideas and labor.
There will be a second meeting held to discuss the Project on Saturday, September 20th at 10am at the Community Hall. We really want and need everyone's support as this truly is a community project and can only happen with everyone's involvement.
