June 2007
It was four years ago, May 2003, that the Philadelphia Folksong Society launched it's new suite of websites designed and developed by BorisThree Communications. The site includes six different areas. One is the online face to the Folksong Society. Four cover the four main events the society sponsors, including the Folk Festival, a 46 year-old event. And the last is an online store where visitors can purchase event tickets, Festival merchandise, and Society Memberships.

"At the start of this project, we were primarily interested in a fresh look and improved navigation with some additional functionality. However, with John's expertise, the Society has gained the impact of a well designed and user friendly website," said Bill Dolton, Website Chair, Board of Trustees Member and former Society Board Member. "And our ability to more effectively communicate with our members and audience has not only given us the ability to deliver more value to them, but the site helps us save money in certain areas and increase revenues in others. In the years to come these benefits will only increase."

The Folksong Society and Folk Festival have a long and celebrated history, and knowing when and how to make changes to stay with the times is a critical attribute. "I am happy to say that I have been a part of this history for a number of years, both as a 15-year Festival Volunteer and 20+ year Society Member," said John Wilson, Owner and Creative Director of BorisThree. "I couldn't tell you how happy I was when we learned that we had the winning proposal for this project. It's not always that you get to work with a client that you have such a wonderful history with."
